13 Days. Actual Meditation for 7 Days
Seasons: March to May & September to November
Day 1 Arrive at Paro International Airport. On arrival you will be received by Lhuethag Adventure members and transfer to hotel. After checking in hotel, drive to National museum and Rimpung Dzong. Overnight at hotel in Paro.
Day 2 Acclimatization a day in Paro valley. Drive to Drukgyel Dzong (the fortress of victory) built in 1649. From here, the peaks of Mount Jomulhari (Alt. 7329m) "Mountain of Goddess" can be seen on a clear day. On route visit, Kyichu Lhakhang built in 549 by Songtsen Gampo, the first king of Tibet. Visit farmhouse and take a leisurely stroll around Paro town. Overnight in hotel in Paro.
Day 3 Journey to Taktsang Monastery. The Taktsang (Tiger's Den) is another famous cave blessed by Guru Rimpoche in Paro. It is believed that Guru Rimpoche flew from Tibet riding over a tiger and landed at Taktsang. He meditated there for 3 months, subdued the rapacious demons there, and blessed the place as holy shrine for all the sentient beings. Therefore, visit to Taktsang is necessary once in Paro valley. Taktsang, which is located at 900 meters from the floor of the Paro valley, hangs precariously from the cliff. Overnight at the camp near the monastery.
Day 4 -10 Meditation session will in progress…
Day 11 Paro – Thimphu (2 hrs). This morning drive through the winding road along the Paro river down stream to the confluence with the Wang Chu then turn upstream and travel along the Wang Chu to Thimphu, the Capital of Bhutan. Lunch will be served at the hotel. On arrival at Thimphu, visit Traditional Paper factory and Textile Factory. Evening, stroll in the majestically city for leisure and overnight at hotel Thimphu.
Day 12 Sightseeing in Thimphu. Morning visit to National Library, Painting School and Traditional Medicine Institute, the rich herbal medicines abundant in Kingdom is prepared here. Visit Memorial Chorten and Tashi Chhodzong, the beautiful medieval fortress/monastery that houses Secretariat building, King's Throne room and other government's offices. It is also the summer residence of Chief Abbot. Handicrafts Emporium; it displays wide assortment of beautifully hand-woven and crafted products. Dinner and over night at the hotel in Thimphu
Day 13 Morning drive to Paro International Airport for flight to onward destination.
