13 Days. Actual Meditation for 7 Days
Seasons: March to May & September to November
Day 1 Arrive Paro from International Airport. On arrival at Paro International Airport, representatives of Lhuethag Adventure will receive and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2 Excursion to Taktsang. Morning drive to Taktsang Monastery. The name Taktsang means "Tiger’s Nest". Located on top of the rook with height of 900 mtrs from the ground level overlooking the Paro Valley. Lunch at Taktsang Cafeteria. Afternoon visit the National museum (Ta Dzong) and Rimpung Dzon (aforts on the heap of jewels. Overnight at hotel in Paro.
Day 3 Paro –Thimphu. Morning drive to Thimphu (capital of Bhutan). On arrival, visit Memorial Chorten (a huge stupa) built in 1974, to honour the memory of the third King. Visit Changangkha Lhakhang, and Handicrafts Emporium. Evening visit Tashi Chhodzong, the main secretariat building. Overnight stay at hotel Thimphu.
Day 4 Journey to Tango Cheri / Drolley Goenpa. Morning visit Folk Heritage museum, School for arts and crafts, National Library where ancient manuscripts are preserved. Lunch at the hotel. Afternoon walk to Tango Cheri / Drolley Goenpa and the trek trail takes about one hour from the road head. Tango Cheri and Drolley Goenpa are located in the north of Thimphu valley. Cheri is higher retreat center under the patronage of His Holiness retired Abbot of Bhutan and Tango is higher Buddhist Studies College. Drolley Goenpa is also a place enchanting by itself. You may feel serine and emptiness there. The one who loves meditation can not dare to go back from Thimphu without visiting these holy places. Overnight at camp near the monastery.
Day 5 -11 Meditation for 7 days begins…
Day 12 Thimphu – Punakha (3 ˝ hrs). Morning drive to Punakha. On the way, visit Traditional Paper Factory and drop at Dochula Pass (3080mtrs) for a hot cup of tea / coffee. Enjoy the most spectacular view of the Eastern Himalayan mountain ranges. Enroute visit Chhimi Lhakhang (temple of fertility) built on a spectacular site in 1499 by Ngawang Chogyel. After lunch, visit Punakha Dzong, the old capital of Bhutan. Take a drive along the upstream river valley. You will see the white bellied heron along the river valleys. It is globally an endanger bird species. Take a short walk to Khamsum Yullley temple built on a hillock overlooking the valley. Overnight stay at hotel in Punakha.
Day 13 Punakha – Phobjikha Valley (4 hrs). After breakfast drive to Phobjikha via Wangdiphodrang Dzong and its small town is perched on a hill between two rivers. Phobjikha is historically important as the origination of Bonism religion (the kind religion believes or worship in nature by sacrificing) and the biggest and the most beautiful valleys in the country. During winters, we can also see the famous Black Necked Cranes migrate from Tibet. Visit the Nyingma Institute and the Monastery at Gangtey Goenpa. Afternoon, visit crane centre and the old Khewa Lhakhang, which is considered as one of the Bonism Religion Centre and carpet factory. Overnight at Resort.
Day 14 Phobjikha – Paro (6 hrs). After an early breakfast, drive to Paro. Enroute visit Semtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress built in 1629 by Zhadrung Rimpoche. Presently housed for the 250 monks. Overnight stay at hotel in Paro.
Day 15 Proceed to Airport for your onward destination.
